For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I give you a wonderful opportunity to live free from sin. Completely free, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed. And you have been set free. It is just a matter of taking dominion authority over sin. And the good news is you can.
For many of you the problem is not Satan but that you have not taken your authority. You can keep the devil and all he brings under your feet, but you must let him have no part in you if you want to live above and not beneath him and his unclean spirits (demons).
I have told you from the beginning that you have dominion over the earth, but you must exercise it.
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:27-28.
I told Adam to exercise that dominion in cultivating and guarding the Garden of Eden and to fill the earth with that abundance and beauty but he laid down his dominion at the feet of another creature and never took it up again. And thus sin and death entered the earth and the lie to which Adam submitted caused him to be born again of perishable, corrupted seed. Lies are perishable and corrupt, they cause sin which brings death and decay. The truth is imperishable and incorrupt, it is forever and it causes righteousness to spring up which brings eternal life.
When Adam rejected My Word, he lost his authority. Authority and power is in the word of the King. The King of kings has the final Word. And the One you know as King of kings and Lord of lords, only said and did My Word, in fact, He is My Word, and I AM the ultimate King, Lawgiver, and Judge.
And I am love and light. So you know what to expect from Me. Pure goodness untainted by the slightest stain of sin. Sin is lawlessness and disorder and it brings every evil thing.
The first two children of Adam were Cain and Abel, and if you recall, Cain was jealous of his brother, angered by his finding favor before Me for his diligence to honor Me in his tithes and offerings, and Cain, instead of learning from his brother, let hate into his heart. I counseled him about this, saying: “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must take up your dominion over it.” Genesis 4:6-7.
Remember what I just told you that when I created you I gave you dominion to rule over the earth, and that included all the creeping, crawling things. The devil crawls in and eats dirt and wants you at the same low level of life. But in Christ, you are seated above with Me and the devil is under your feet. You are in a higher dimension when you are in My Word for My Words are spirit and life. In Christ, I have put the devil under your feet, keep him there. And by that I mean whatever he sends against your life or tries to sneak through your door with when you are not looking, you must immediately command it down under your feet.
But Cain, like his father Adam, did not choose to obey My life-giving Word, but instead listened to and adopted the lies of the devil as his own, refusing to take back his dominion authority given by Me, and killed Abel.
But look again at what I told Cain about sin, it is crouching at your door—it hides in the folds, it crouches at the door, it is looking to enter when you are not guarding your garden gate and come in to defile it. If you should see weeds arising and thorns and thistles in the wheat of your life, you know there was a enemy’s hand in it, and it cannot be stored in My barn. But you can take dominion over it and be its master. You can get it out and pull down any strongholds he has begun to build in you as well.
For sin shall not be master (take dominion, rule) over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14.
How? Let it have NO part in you. The minute it starts, put it back down under your feet. Refuse to accept it or let it grow. In other words, be vigilant and watch you thoughts and your words. Be careful what you hear, what you think upon, and what you speak. That is where it all starts to grow, and if not contained and cast out, it will remain to cause you great grief in the future days. But worst of all, it will keep you from being someone I entrust with great and mighty works for the Kingdom. And that would be a opportunity you do not want to let pass you by.
Jesus told you that Satan had no part in Him, no place, no entrance, no abode. And as Jesus is, so are you in this world. When you were baptized into Christ you clothed yourself with Him in the garments of salvation and the robe of righteousness.
You can and should enjoy living entirely sin free by My grace, which is My divine life, in you. And that is what living the abiding life is all about. Jesus is the Vine, you are the branches, I am the vinedresser and the Holy Spirit is the “sap,” i.e., the life pouring into the branches from the vine, making you partakers and producers of the divine nature as the body of Christ in the world.
Do you remember what I said about Jesus through the revelations I gave in the Spirit to the prophet Isaiah?
By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due? His grave was assigned with wicked men, yet He was with a rich man in His death, because He had done no violence, nor was there any deceit in His mouth. Isaiah 53:8-9.
Do you see something that is key here? “Because He had done no violence, nor was there any deceit in His mouth.” What are these? These are characteristics of what caused the fall and sin in Satan, who was created righteous and perfect as the guardian cherub in the garden of Eden.
“You were the anointed cherub who who guards, and I placed you there [Eden]. You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked in the midst of the stones of fire. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until unrighteousness was found in you. By the abundance of your trade you were internally filled with violence, and you sinned; Ezekiel 28:14-16.
And deceit:
And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Revelation 12:9.
And the testimony of Jesus:
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:42-44.
You have to put your foot down and take your authority—no tolerance for violence, deceit, fear in yourself. You must not let one bit of sin in and then you live untouchable.
Who is the man who desires life and loves length of days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:12-14.
If you hate—the devil has come in.
If you gossip—you know you let the devil in.
If you fear—you know you let the devil in.
If you have depression, strife, anxiety, anger, immorality, sickness, pain or any other works of the flesh in you, then you know he is in your house. You have let uncleanness in to defile your temple, the temple of your body. And there is only one way to cleanse things in the temple in the Mosaic covenant—the blood of the lamb. And it is still the same.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son continually cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:6-7.
The condition of the temple under the Mosaic covenant evidenced the spiritual condition of the people. When they defiled My house with unclean idols and profane animals and sacrifice, burning incense to other “gods” and immolating their children to them, going into sexual immorality right before My eyes in My own house, and cheating their fellow countrymen with dishonest weights and measures, charging at usury and enslaving them with no jubilee, they had let in the enemy and no longer could I shield them and their city. They opened themselves to captivity and would serve their enemies. They lost their wonderful land to unbelievers who came only to steal, kill, and destroy for they had wandered out of My jurisdiction to other “gods.” They had left Me for Satan.
When trouble came they would try to hold up their covenant with Me but they would still cling to their involvement with the devil and demons. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot straddle the fence. IF YOU DO NOT WANT WHAT THE DEVIL BRINGS IN YOUR LIFE YOU MUST TAKE DOMINION OVER HIM. YOU CANNOT ENTERTAIN HIM AND AT THE SAME TIME CAST HIM OUT AND KEEP HIM OUT WHEN HE HAS A PLACE FIRMLY IN YOU AND YOU ARE REFUSING TO EVICT HIM FROM YOUR LIFESTYLE.
Give the devil no place in you, for you are My temple now that My Spirit dwells in your spirit. And when I counsel you to give the devil no place in you, that means just what it says NO PLACE. Why is that necessary? For many reasons.
First, if you do not let trouble in, it cannot trouble you. And I would like you to avoid trouble. I want you untouchable by evil. But to be that way you must not be touching it.
Next, I want you to walk in power and authority over the things in the earth, to subdue them and rule them to produce for you. I do not want thorns and thistles blocking everything I have entrusted you to do for a fruitful life and a prosperous journey.
“Instead of the thorn bush the cypress will come up, and instead of the nettle the myrtle will come up, and it will be a memorial to the LORD, for an everlasting sign which will not be cut off.” Isaiah 55:13.
Next, until you are free from all that sin causes in your life, if you keep hanging on to the old man and not renewing your mind to be transformed in every respect into the new creation I have made you to be in the spirit, I cannot use you in Kingdom business and affairs because you cannot take dominion with Me. You are not able to reign in life through Christ Jesus. To do that you must receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness and be established in righteousness to be far from oppression and put down the opposition Satan brings against you in planting the Kingdom on earth. Isaiah 54:14-17.
How do you live free from sin? By My Word.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. Psalm 119:9-11.
If hate and fear, the lust and emotions of the flesh, and doubt rule you, you cannot rule and you will be plagued with every evil thing Satan pushes your way.
It is time you put all that under your feet. And I have equipped you to do this from your creation and much more in your recreation in Christ Jesus to reign with Me forever and ever.
There is only one way you can master sin and Satan and only one place of dominion authority, and that is in the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit you can put sin under your feet. You cannot walk by the flesh and ever take dominion over your flesh.
And that is where we will continue in our next life lesson. There is so much more direction I give you in this area and it is very important you learn it, it is a matter of life and death, and it is in the power of your tongue. If you can bridle your tongue, you can bridle your whole body as well.
I love you. What I say to you, I say to all: Be on your guard. Sin is crouching at your door, but you can take dominion over it. And the good news is Jesus is knocking at your door as well. Revelation 3:20. Death and Life are at your door, choose life that you and your seed many live, forever.
And I think you would be interested in the Hebrew word translated as dominion, master, and rule in that passage that I first spoke to Cain. It is the Hebrew word “mashal (מָשַׁל)” which means to have dominion, to rule, and to reign but if you look at the Hebrews letters it is spelled with “Mem”, “Shin,” and “Lamed.” The pictograph for the “Mem” is living water, this depicting the Holy Spirit. The Shin is for Shaddai and is the way the hands are held in giving the priestly blessing I taught Moses for Aaron and his sons to put My Name on the people so I could bless them. El Shaddai is My Name translated as “God Almighty,” but it means “Enough,” I am enough to fill all your needs for I am your source for life and everything good. And then it ends with the letter “lamed” which is the shepherd’s staff representing the good Shepherd and it is the word for teacher and to learn. So, you see that your dominion comes from Me, the Father, El Shaddai, the Son, your good Shepherd and Teacher, and the Holy Spirit, the living water.
