“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Today I want to talk with you about love. Everything I ask you to do or to be flows from and works by love. Love is the sweetest thing.
Faithfulness flows from love. Trust flows from love. Joy flows from love. Faith flows from love.
I love a cheerful giver. Without love you will never be a cheerful giver. Love gives and gives with joy. When you love someone, you just cannot give that person enough and you want to give something precious. I so loved the world I gave the best I had, My Son. And He gave up the Glory He had with Me before the world began and gave every drop of His precious Blood for you. And He did it with delight. Why? Love. Love for you. Love for Me.
I love you. I made the world for you and sustain the entire universe for you. I am faithful to you. Why? Because I love you. I gave My Son as propitiation for your sins so you could be with Me forever. Because all your sins were punished in His body, I forgive and remember no more any sin or offense you commit. Once you repent and come to Me to receive My forgiveness in Jesus, it is as if you never sinned. You are holy and blameless in My Sight. Ephesians 1:4. My mercy flows from My Love. I am love and My love is for you.
When you really love someone you are excited about them. You like to be with them. You like to share your thoughts and dreams with them. You trust them. You find happiness and peace with them. You want to be with them as much as possible. You look forward to time with them. It is not a chore to fellowship with them.
And that is the way I am with you. I always seek to dwell with you. That is why I directed Moses to construct the dwelling place for Me with the Israelites on their way to the Promised Land. That is why I gave David the plans for My house that Solomon built. That is why I had Cyrus send back the Jewish exiles to Jerusalem to rebuild My house. That is why My Word became flesh and dwelt among you. That is why I pour My Spirit into your heart so that I may dwell with and in you forever. You are now My temple, My dwelling place. I rejoice over you like a bridegroom over his bride—and that is first love that never grows cold. I am jealous over you and will not share you with idols.
When love grows cold, things that were fun before become tedious. When there is no love, there is no reason to be faithful. When love is not there, joy is gone and trust is weak. When there is no love there is no excitement and not much fellowship.
Do you know why that is? Why is everyone looking for love? Why are love stories so popular? Think a moment. Everyone is seeking the purpose of why they are here, why they exist, but the only place you will learn the true answer is in the One who created you. I created you and I know the purpose for which I made you. I made you in My own image and according to My likeness. And who am I? I am love. I made you to also be love. Love is your nature and love is your purpose. Without love you have no purpose. Love is your purpose and love makes you pure and fruitful. Love leads to close fellowship with Me because then we agree in everything. We both walk together in love, with love, and for love.
That is why I tell you to love Me with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, to love your neighbor as yourself, and to love your fellow believers as I have loved you. I am not looking for servants. I am looking for family. I am looking for friends. I am looking for lovers. I know that if you know Me and come to love Me you will run the way of My way with joy. My Word will be written within your heart. Your life will be happy and beautiful. Life will flow in My Spirit.
I made you in My image to be My family. I want our relationship to be one based on love, everlasting love. I do not want a relationship based on fear. I want you to want to be with Me. That is why I so carefully honor your free will. If you choose not to follow Me or obey Me I allow you to make that choice. Even though I will that everyone be saved and come to know the truth, I do not force anyone to do so. It is up to each one of you.
I delight in being with you. You are the apple of My Eye. I knock at the door of your heart and wait to see if you will let Me in so that we can fellowship together and I can be your Lord who cares for you. Revelation 3:20. Yes, I seek for those whose hearts are turned towards Me. I seek those who worship in spirit and truth. Those who love Me are known by Me. They delight in Me and I give them their heart’s desires. Psalm 37:4. I reveal Myself to them and they hear My Voice. They are the ones who enjoy their prayer time with Me and do not find it a chore. We visit, we fellowship. Do not box yourself in and make the time with Me unpleasant by thinking you only can pray by reading or reciting traditional formal prayers, flow with My Spirit in you.
What am I trying to tell you? That when you fall in love with Me, life becomes fun. All the time. Even trials become occasions for us to work together. Times when you can lean on Me. Times when you can do mighty deeds with Me. Times when you can trust and be faithful. Times for miracles.
And do you know that I make all things work out good for those who love Me and are working according to My purpose? Romans 8:28. If you believe in My love for you, you can trust My Word and know that no matter what evil the enemy throws your way, it is not bigger than My love for you or beyond My power to save.
And how do you show that you love Me? Only one way: by keeping My Word, by trusting Me even in trials, by having faith in My promises to you. John 14:21,23; Hebrews 11:6. If you say you love Me but live in fear and anxiety then you do not know My love. If you say you love Me but do not keep My Word, if instead you are keeping the devil’s word, then you do not love Me.
And if you love Me, you love the One I sent, that is, Jesus. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. There is no other Way to Me. He and I are One. In seeing Jesus you are seeing Me. And when you see Him, you see love in action. I anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and power and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. Acts 10:38. When you love, you reach out to heal.
Yes, Jesus is One God with Me and the Holy Spirit from before the world began but He emptied Himself and became as a servant to Me to free you from sin and satisfy your debt before Me. I can think of no greater love. I love you more than Myself.
I look for those who love Me because I know they will be faithful. I know I can trust them with Kingdom business. I know they find My yoke easy and My burden light. I know that everything else seems like rubbish to them compared to knowing the sweetness of My Love.
The one who is forgiven much, and knows it, loves much. But those who are self-righteous do not love much for they do not know My love and grace. They sincerely believe that they must justify themselves before Me on their own merits. They do not understand the beauty and depth of My love that justifies them by the work of Jesus and not their own works. And they only let My love and forgiveness trickle in—I cannot pour My love into their hearts by My gift of the Holy Spirit for their hearts are closed and hard. They never flow with the river of delight, with the river of My Spirit, the life giving water from My throne. They are like the elder son in the parable My Son told of the prodigal son.
If you are thirsty for love, come and drink deeply of the river of delight, the water of life that flows from My throne. Psalm 36:8; Isaiah 66:11; Revelation 22:1, 17. You will never thirst again. John 4:14. Drink deeply of love. It is better than the finest wine. Song of Songs 1:2.
Love will make your life flow with excitement and joy. Let Me fill your life with My love. Let Me sing over you. Let Me love you. Do not shut Me out and stay in the darkness. Come into My marvelous light! Come and take Me as your Lord and you will see. Taste and see My goodness. Psalm 34:8.
Happy the people that know the joyful shout! They walk in My light. They let Me be their God and they turn away from idols.
I love you. Fall in love with Me. Your life will have no limits. It will make what once seemed difficult, easy and light. It will make you soar with eagle’s wings, run and not grow weary, and walk and not grow faint. It is the only way to live. And I mean life in abundance.
