So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life. Genesis 3:24.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I blessed man from the start. I empowered him to prosper, be fruitful, and take authority over the works of My hands and I put all things in the earth for man to discover, combine, and create. I gave you My own spirit of creativity.
Then Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every skillful person in whom the LORD had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him, to come to the work to perform it. Exodus 36:2.
Adam separated himself and his descendants from walking with Me by no longer thinking in agreement with Me, for how can two walk together unless they agree? Adam became opposed and hostile to Me and so too did his descendants. Disobedience to life brought death. Adam chose to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that would bring certain eternal death and walked in evil with no repentance. And from that fruit all of his descendants had the seed in them. So that man in his fallen, corrupt state would not live forever I blocked the way to the tree of life with two cherubim and closed the east gate, which like the tabernacle of Moses, was the only way into Eden.
But I was not without a remedy. I am the LORD who looks ahead and provides and then I am your helper to get you to the solution. I spoke the seed of My Word into hearts from Heaven and whoever would take in that seed and grow it by obeying My Word walked with Me and became a Covenant partner and enabled the Blessing to become active in his or her life, empowering them to succeed and prosper.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11.
And all who would join with Me by faith I blessed them by My Spirit on them and My Word which I gave them to put in their mouths to move mountains and call in the blessings. I found Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses and each one’s obedience turned the tide another way and was headed toward one goal—bringing you back to Mys image and likeness so you could eat of the tree of life and live forever with Me in My glorious Kingdom.
Abraham’s obedience brought his line to be the door through which the Messiah would come that would bless every person on earth and take down the gate of the enemy. And the first person to praise Me in a severe test was Leah when she gave birth to her son Judah and that line of Abraham’s descendants became the door through whom I would come as man. It is the one who praises in a tight place that seems impossible that I can trust with the Kingdom. And from the line of Judah there came a man named David whose obedience was one of pure love and joy in My presence and it was to his line that I entrusted the blessing of the Messiah according to the flesh. And one woman in that line, that lifted her voice in highest praise in the midst of a time of testing in her life, was the one chosen to bring forth the promised Messiah.
And through One Man’s obedience, the Godman, Jesus Christ, you were cleansed, made righteous, your judgment paid and your sentence satisfied as if sin had never been for those who received the gift of righteousness and the abundance of grace by receiving Him. But that was not the end.
Jesus came to bring a gift that could only remain in you when the sin was gone and your spirit alive again to join with Him. And it was the gift of Myself, the Holy Spirit, that regenerates you and fills you with God so that you are again in My image and according to My likeness. THE BLESSING.
For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:3-7.
And now I have qualified you in Christ Jesus to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in Light. Colossians 1:12. And what is that? Eternal life as a joint heir with Christ. You are now qualified to eat the fruit of the tree of life. And what is that?
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14.
Jesus obtained eternal life for you on the tree of the cross and the fruit thereof was His body given for you and His blood poured out for you and unless you eat His body and drink His blood, as He taught you to do at the Last Supper, you have no eternal life in you.
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.” John 6:53-58.
Because He lives, you live.
And remember, I stationed two cherubim to guard the tree of life so that man in his fallen state could not eat of that tree, do you recall what happened the day Jesus rose from the dead?
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing; and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” Luke 24:1-7.
The two cherubim were no longer needed to guard the way to the tree of life and stop mankind from drawing near to partake, Jesus had risen and opened a new and living way back to the tree of life for all who would receive Him.
Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:19-25.
I love you. Let your good Shepherd lead you and feed you. He has the Words of eternal life.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30.
